How are the Top 100 selected?
The final winners are elected based on the tabulated results processed from
1. Mystery Diner Evaluation (60%)
2. Public Votes (20%)
3. Diner Reviews and Awards (10%)
4. Advisory Panel Evaluation (10%)
Mystery Diner Evaluation
This is the most important component for award selection. This in-field real time anonymous assessment is done by a leading mystery shopping service company, AboutFace Corp. A mystery diner visits and evaluates each restaurant. The mystery diner’s written report and scorecard are the main measures of success for the candidates.
In Search of Dining Excellence
To qualify for the Top 100 Chinese Restaurants competition’s highest honor -- the Overall Excellence award, restaurants must have been in business a minimum of 2 years and have earned positive industry, media or customer recognition. Restaurants undergo rigorous evaluation, in terms of cleanliness, cuisine, decor and service, by professional Mystery Diners. The Top 100 highest-scoring restaurants will be winners.
